Anna Plascjak, 97, of Matawan Dies

Anna Plascjak, 97, of Matawan, passed away Saturday February 4, 2012 at Care One in Holmdel. She worked primarily in the food industry as a kitchen supervisor in the New York City School System and a cashier at Exchange Buffet Corp. She was born in North Hampton, PA. and had lived previously in Brooklyn and Queens before moving to Marlboro in 1980. She has remained a resident of Matawan for the past 10 years. Anna's family and friends were a very important part of her life. She also enjoyed bowling and traveling.

She was predeceased by her husband Joseph in 1996, and 4 brothers Paul and Joseph Maslany and Charles and Peter Umrysh, and a son-in-law Richard Tauber. She leaves behind a daughter Madeleine Cerritto, sisters-in-law Thelma and Ann Maslany, and Katherine Umrysh and nieces and nephews Cynthia Calhoun, Preston Umrysh Paul, Mark and Thomas Maslany, Diane Springer, Patty Ann Schwenk, Jo Ann Westerhaus and Theresa Chamberlin.

Visitation will be held on Thursday February 9, 2012 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 501 Highway 79, Morganville, NJ. A funeral mass will be held on Friday February 10, 2012 at 10am at St. Gabriel Historic church, Marlboro followed by interment in St. Gabriel Cemetery, Marlboro. The family requests donations be made in her name to the Salvation Army. =
