Gloria Alice Thompson, 79, of Aberdeen Dies

Gloria Alice Thompson, 79, of Aberdeen, passed away Friday April 6, 2012 at Care One in Holmdel. She was a homemaker. Gloria was born in Newark and lived there until moving to Aberdeen in 1963. Some of her pleasures in life included gardening, cooking and baking. She enjoyed traveling as well as spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will certainly be missed by all who knew her.

Gloria was predeceased by her husband James Joseph Thompson in 1984, her sister Joan Skorki and her parents Martin and Ruth Gnatz and son-in-law Gary Spencer. She leaves behind 4 sons and 3 daughters-in-law James and Cindy Thompson, John and Robyn Thompson, David and Maureen Thompson, and Matthew Thompson, 2 daughters and brother-in-law Nancy and James Taylor, and Virginia Spencer, and 10 grandchildren, James, Carolyn, Michael, Heather, Brittany, John Kelly, Kelsey, Partick, Conor and Claire.

Visitation will be held on Monday April 9, 2012 from 6pm - 9pm at the Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation service, 501 Highway 79, Morganville, NJ 07751. A funeral mass will take place on Tuesday at 9:15am at St. Joseph Church, Keyport, followed by interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Keyport. Donations can be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834-1365.
