
Joseph Anthony Opramolla, 80, of Aberdeen, passed away on February 17 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in the Bronx to the late Dominick and Antoinette Opramolla, he resided in Aberdeen for 44 years. He was a veteran of the US Army and served with the 3rd Infantry Honor Guard Unit at Arlington National Cemetery from 1955-1957.
He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Fordham University.
Joseph worked as a Vice President of Corporate Communication with Colgate Palmolive and later Phillip Morris. He then spent ten years as partner in the promotional advertising firm of Frank N. Abate, Inc., New York City. He was an avid sports fan with a special passion for baseball.

He was predeceased by his son Joseph Gerard Opramolla in 2006.
Surviving are his loving wife of 56 years, Florence Opramolla of Aberdeen, two sons and their wives, Charles Opramolla and Jodi of Matawan, Paul Opramolla and Anne of Freehold, a sister and brother-in-law, Joan Desch and Erich, a brother-in-law and his wife, Thomas and Marie Prendergast, four grandchildren, Matthew, Alison, Daniel, and Bailey, and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 20 from 4-8 PM at the Waitt Funeral Home, 501 Hwy 79, Morganville. A funeral mass will be offered on Tuesday at 11AM in St. Clements Church, followed by burial in St. Gabriel's Cemetery. Online condolences and photos may be viewed at www.waittfh.com
