
Angelo A. Caruso, 89, of Aberdeen Twp., passed away, Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at home surrounded by family and friends. Born in Newark, he and his wife of 65 years resided there before moving to Aberdeen in 1964. He met his wife on the beach of Point Pleasant and they were married at the Our Lady of Good Counsel. Angelo worked as a letter carrier for the US Post Office in Newark before retiring. He bravely served his country in the Army during WWII. Angelo enjoyed fishing, cooking and working in his fruit, vegetable and herb garden.
Angelo was predeceased by his parents, James and Rose Casale Caruso; and a brother, Thomas Caruso. He is survived by his beloved wife, Eleanor Holland Caruso; a loving daughter, Nancy Long of Princeton; a dear brother, James Caruso and his wife, Marie of Cedar Grove; and two cherished grandchildren, Jacqueline Long and Jennifer Pisciotta and her husband, Anthony, all of New York. Angelo will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are invited Sunday, September 16, 2012, 2-4 & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport; and Monday, September 17, 2012, 9AM at the funeral home, with a 10AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Clement RC Church, Matawan. Interment will follow at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
