Obituary: Casimir "Cas" Kurowski, 71, of Matawan

Casimir "Cas" Kurowski Jr., 71, of Matawan, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Saturday July 21, 2012.

He was born in Bayonne, NJ, and for the past 38 years resided in Matawan, New Jersey with his wife Barbara and three children Michele, Renee and Keith. Cas was an engineer and quality control manager before his retirement, where he worked for AT&T in Kearny and Sound Design Electronics in Carteret. He attended St. Lawrence Church in Laurence Harbor.In his retirement years, Cas was a generous and loving grandfather who enjoyed visiting and watching his grandchildren grow and participate in many activities. In addition he was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time at the Jersey Shore. Among his favorite sports teams he cheered on were the New York Yankees and New York Giants. He will be deeply missed by all family and friends.

Cas was a loving and dedicated husband and father, who fought a brave and courageous seven year battle with Multiple Myeloma, a rare blood and bone cancer. He was predeceased by his mother and father Lucille and Casimir Kurowski and sister Pat Gentile. Surviving is his devoted, caring and faithful wife of 49 years Barbara. Surviving are his three children; Michele Robertson and her husband Scott of Spring Lake, NJ, Renee Kurowski of Chappaqua, NY and son Keith Kurowski and his wife Sara of Granger Indiana; six grandchildren include Ryan, Samuel, and Holly Robertson, and Thomas, Elly and Andrew Kurowski. Also surviving is his sister-law Janet Krah and her husband Carl; brothers Chester, John and Eddie Kurowski, as well as his sisters Phyllis Dandrow and Loraine Granger.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 24, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Waitt Funeral Home, located at 501 highway 79, Morganville, NJ. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday July 25, at 9 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Laurence Harbor. Entombment will follow in St. Gabriel Cemetery, Marlboro.
