Obituary: Dorothea Marie Makowka, 92, Formerly of Matawan

Mrs. Dorothea Marie Makowka of Enterprise, AL and formerly of Cliffwood Beach N.J. passed away Friday, June 15, 2012 in Enterprise, Alabama. She was 92.

Mrs. Makowka was born May 20, 1920 in Matawan, NJ to the late Lester and Wilhelmina Helena Wolff Lamberson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Frank Makowka, her sister, Helen Cariello and a grandson, Ronnie Cassell.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Nancy Cassell of East Falmouth, MA; granddaughters, Cheryl and Dave White, Enterprise, Debra and James Hazeldine, Opelika, AL, Cassandra and Alex Pereira of Sao Joao Da Boa Vista, Brazil; great-grandchildren: Stefani Hazeldine, Melissa Hazeldine, Stephen White (Tabitha), Jeffrey White (Paulina), Drew White, Juliana Pereira, Carolina Pereira; sister-in-law, Sophie Rodney, Morganville, NJ; her dear friend and companion, Lomax Hughes, Enterprise, AL, several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 501 highway 79, Morganville, NJ on Friday evening from 6pm - 8pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012 from the chapel of Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service and Burial will follow in the Shoreland Memorial Gardens in Hazlet, N.J.

The family also received friends at Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise, Alabama on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 6 until 8 pm.
