Obituary: Dorothy Lee, 61, of Old Bridge

San Chi Lee, known by her friends and family as Dorothy, passed away on September 14, 2012. She will be missed dearly by her husband Victor, her son Daniel, her daughter Diana, and all who knew her.

Dorothy was born in Macau in 1951 and came to the United States when she was 18 years old. She and her husband Victor met in New York City and have been married since 1976; their children Daniel and Diana were born shortly afterward. In 1983, her family relocated to Old Bridge, NJ where she has since resided. She was a devout Christian and an active member of Jireh Church in Marlboro.

Dorothy was known for her affectionate warmth and her deep love for her friends and family. She loved walking, being healthy, traveling the world, and found great joy in caring for others. She led Bible study and worked for many years raising young children at KinderCare and as a Sunday school teacher. Dorothy lived an immensely full and happy life and was constantly thankful for God’s blessings and graciousness.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 21, from 2pm to 4pm and from 7pm to 9pm at the Waitt Funeral Home. There will also be a viewing on Saturday September 22 from 9am-10:30am at Jireh Church. Addresses are provided below.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Jireh Church on Saturday September 22 at 10:30am for the funeral. The burial service will be held at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery immediately afterwards.

To celebrate Dorothy's life, the family wishes that you make a contribution in her memory to launch the Mercy Fund at Jireh Church. The proceeds of this fund will be used to help those in need, a cause she embraced wholeheartedly. Please make checks payable to "Jireh Church", and specify "In memory of Dorothy Lee" in the memo.
