Obituary: Dr. Richard M. Alexander, 66, of Keyport

Dr. Richard M. Alexander, 66, of Keyport, passed away, Monday, July 23, 2012, at his home. Born in New York, NY, he was a lifelong resident of Keyport and Hazlet. He was a 1965 graduate of Raritan High School and later received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1972.

Richard was predeceased by his beloved wife, Cheryl Lynn Alexander; and his parents, James Robert Alexander DC and Virginia Fitz Randolph. He is survived by two children, Richard M. Alexander Jr. and his wife Breanna of Minnesota; and Tami M. Cottrell DC and her husband Mark of Iowa; his siblings, James R. Alexander Jr. DC and his wife Paula of Morganville; Susan Montefort and her husband John of Barnegat; and Laurence Alexander and his wife Georgia of Iowa; and five grandchildren, Virginia Lynn, Dylan, Kylie, Sydney and Brayden. Richard will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

At the request of the family, cremation was private. A memorial visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, from 4-8PM with a short service at 7pm at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735. In keeping with his wishes the family asks that in lieu of flowers donations are being received by Kentuckiana Children’s Center, a non profit Chiropractic care center for children with special needs.
