Obituary: Leonard Kasper, Matawan

Leonard “Leon or Lenny” Kasper, 80, of Matawan, passed away, Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Centra State Medical Center, Freehold.  Born in the Bronx, he resided in Aberdeen, Old Bridge and Manchester, before moving to Matawan.  He worked as a mechanic with American Can Company, Hillside; Lee Filter, Edison; and then with Milton Can, Elizabeth.  Leon was the past president of the Old Bridge Little League and Pop Warner; and former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Club, Perth Amboy.  He served his country in the Army during the Korean War.

Leon is survived by his beloved wife, Ann Lonergan; his loving children, Lenny and his wife, Pam of Florida; Kevin and his wife, Kerry of Cliffwood Beach; Kathy Dzwil and her husband, Stan of Aberdeen; and Anne Watson of Aberdeen; three dear sisters, Cecelia Schwarz of Hatfield, PA; Christina Ekstedt of Metuchen; and Maryann Southard of Dover; ten cherished grandchildren and five great grandchildren.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
