Obituary: Retired Matawan Teacher, 77

Anne Boyd, 77, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Care One at King James in Atlantic Highlands.

She spent the largest portion of her life in Fair Haven and was a retired teacher from the Matawan/Aberdeen School District, where she taught for over 30 years. Anne was a member of the Mayflower Society and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a dedicated Bridge player, and a patron of the Arts, in particular the Metropolitan Opera and the ballet. She was an antique collector and previously had a booth in the Red Bank Antiques Center. She participated in the Garden State Depression Glass Club and the Bead Society of NJ. Anne was also a member of the Sands Beach Club for many, many years. Anne loved to travel and enjoyed numerous trips and cruises with her friends.

Anne is predeceased by her parents; Ludwig Fusser and Edith Sawtelle Fusser, and her brother Walter. Surviving is her daughter, Jennifer and her husband Tony of Stamford, CT; her sister Ruth Sherman of NY, her grandson Alexander Lerner and her two nieces Emily Sherman and Diana Sherman.

A visitation will be held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701 on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 from 1:30 to 4 PM with a service to follow. Interment will be private.
