On Tuesday January 17, Webelos Den 5 Scouts, along with their Den Leader Lisa Harrington, from Aberdeen Matawan Cub Scout Pack 66 visited Aberdeen Town Hall to meet with Mayor Fred Tagliarini. The Scouts, Scotty H., Edward D., T. Theodore C., Ethan C., and their Boy Scout Den Chief Thomas B. are working on the Citizen Activity Badge and as part of the requirements needed to speak with the head of their local government. The boys and their parents met with Mayor Tagliarini, Deputy Mayor Margaret Montone, Township Clerk Karen Ventura, and Town Manager Holly Reycraft before the Town Council Workshop Meeting. Mayor Tagliarini spoke of his day to day duties as Mayor, he described what the Town Council does for Aberdeen and then spent time answering the Scouts questions. The Webelos then watched the Town Council Workshop Meeting to learn more about how towns work. They also helped lead the Pledge of Allegiance along with the Mayor and Town Council.
