
William E. Storer, 85, of Matawan, passed away Tuesday March 27, 2012 at Centra State Medical Center, Freehold. He was born in Robertsville, NJ and has remained a lifelong resident of Morganville. Before his retirement he worked as a head mechanic for National Lead Industries in Sayreville. He was a founding member of the Robertsville Fire Company and had served as a Chief, President and Trustee for the fire company as well as serving as the District Fire Marshall. He was also the District Fire Warden for the New Jersey State Forest Fire Service. William was a WWII Veteran who served in the United States Navy. He is remembered most notably for his Truck Number "B25". William will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew him.
He leaves behind his wife of 62 years Elizabeth Storer, 3 daughters and a son-in-law Marvis Storer, Dolores Storer-Flanagan and Teri and Paul Stich, a brother and sister-in-law Curtis and Esther Storer, 9 grandchildren, Dannielle Johnson and her husband Robbie, Damaris Trapp and her husband Judd, Justice Gibson and his wife Jessica, Lou Storer, Alice Flanagan, Phil Parker, Sara Johnson and her husband Kevin, Jeffrey Stich and his wife Amanda, and Karen Vimbor and her husband Ralph, and 9 great grandchildren Ryan, Chloe, Ayrn, Owen, Destiny, Nathan, Alec, Dylan, and Anderson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday March 29, 2012 from 7pm - 9pm at the Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 501 Highway 79, Morganville, NJ 07751. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home at 9:30am on Friday March 30, 2012 for final viewing followed by a military service at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran Cemetery, Arnytown, NJ. The family requests donations be made in his name to the Robertsville Volunteer Fire Company.
