Barbara Edith Shannon, 75, of Aberdeen, passed away Thursday Dec. 22. She was a homemaker. She was born in the Bronx where she lived until moving to Aberdeen in 1963. Barbara had a love for life and a cheerful attitude that carried her through her battle with MS. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandkids and her extended family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years Senan M. Shannon in 1998. She leaves behind a daughter Barbara Ann Shannon, 2 sons and a daughter-in-law John Shannon, Senan T. and Andrea Shannon, a brother Father John McGuire, and 2 grandchildren, Meaghan and Senan C.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday Dec. 27 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 501 Highway 79, Morganville, NJ 07751. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday Dec. 28 at 10 a.m. at . Donations can be made in her name to the National MS Society, PO Box 4527, New York, NY 10163.
