Car Drives Into Pool In Old Bridge, Driver Rescued: Fire Officials

PHOTOS: A driver was rescued in Old Bridge last week after their car plowed through a fence and crashed into a pool.

OLD BRIDGE, NJ - A driver in Old Bridge was rescued Wednesday after their car plowed through a fence and crashed into a backyard pool Wednesday, fire officials said.

Just before 6 p.m., the Old Bridge Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle on a pool with entrapment on Thomas Road, the fire department said in a Facebook post.

Before fire and rescue units were able to arrive, Old Bridge Police Department Patrolman Schlusselfeld and Patrolman Bauer rescued the driver out of the vehicle, the fire department said.

The driver was then evaluated by personnel from Robert Wood Johnson EMS. Rescue units operated at the scene for about two hours in total, fire officials said.
