Emma Roberts Filming In Matawan For New RomCom: Report

MATAWAN, NJ — You might very well see Emma Roberts in Matawan this week:

That's because production began Monday on "Space Cadet," a new romantic comedy starring Roberts that will be briefly filming in Matawan, according to the Asbury Park Press.

The movie is filming a few scenes at Matawan's iconic "Blue House," the 149-year-old Victoria-era mansion on Main Street.

From IMDB, this is the plot of "Space Cadet:" "Florida party girl Rex (Roberts) turns out to be the only hope for the NASA space program after a fluke puts her in training with other candidates who may have better resumes, but don't have her smarts, heart and moxie."

While the movie is not a horror movie, the brief segment they are filming in Matawan does involve the house being haunted:

“The filming has something to do with it being a haunted house,” Matawan Historical Society member Kurtis Roinestad told the APP.
