Arcadian Chorale to Perform Mozart's Unfinished Masterwork

The Arcadian Chorale together with The Richmond Choral Society will offer Mozart’s unfinished masterwork, the Great Mass in C Minor, K.427 on Saturday, May 12 at 8 PM, at St. Peter's RC Church, 53 St. Mark's Place, Staten Island.

No one really knows why Mozart did not finish this piece, a grand mass written in homage to the style of Bach and Handel. Although various attempts have been made to "complete" the piece, the most authentic, scholarly, and successful completion was created last year by Dr. Benjamin-Gunnar Cohrs of Bremen, Germany. He is a conductor and scholar whose research yielded a very sound approach to supplying the missing sections of the Mass. The New York performance will be the Pan-American premiere of this new completion.

General Admission: $30, Seniors: $25, Students with ID: $10
