MATAWAN, NJ - Matawan residents should plan ahead for planned power outages on Monday, police said.
Central Power & Light (JCP&L) has warned borough officials of possible power outages under one hour between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Monday for necessary repair work, Matawan police said in a Sunday Nixle alert.
While the plan stands for the outage to occur at around 8 a.m., the schedule is subject to change.

“This planned outage is necessary for JCP&L to safely make necessary repairs,” police said.
In the event of inclement weather, the outage and planned repairs will be rescheduled, police said.

Matawan is set to see scattered showers and thunderstorms before noon, the isolated showers between noon and 1 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
The Matawan Police Department & Office of Emergency Management will be monitoring the outage and will respond to assist with traffic control and other requests as warranted.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” Matawan police said. “Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.”
