"This production crew chose Matawan for our unique historic character and locations," said Restore Matawan in a Facebook post.

"Matawan is now considered a 'film-ready town' thanks to the initiative and local ordinance passed by Matawan borough. This marks the third major film production in our community in the last three years (Clerks III and Space Cadet). We hope this production will be one of many more to come."

Why are so many movies, TV shows and commercials being filmed in the Garden State?

It's because Gov. Phil Murphy has given HBO, Netflix and Paramount hundreds of million in tax breaks to entice them to make movies in New Jersey. Murphy says movie and TV production will bring jobs to New Jersey. The state gave Netflix up to $200 million in tax breaks to open what will be its largest filmmaking studio in the world at the former Fort Monmouth U.S. Army base.
