Keyport Woman, Husband Died In Murder-Suicide, Prosecutor Says
Officers found Ekaterina Kalyapina, 37, and her husband Ilya Gagin, 39, both deceased. Police say he killed her, and then killed himself:
KEYPORT, NJ — A husband and wife who were found deceased in their Keyport home last week died as a result of a murder-suicide, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago announced on Monday.
Last Tuesday morning, March 19, Keyport Police responded to a home on Chingarora Avenue after receiving a request for a wellness check.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim, Ekaterina Kalyapina, 37, and her husband Ilya Gagin, 39, both deceased. Police say he killed her, and then killed himself.

An autopsy conducted by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed the cause and manner of death for the pair were homicide and suicide, respectively.
Two small dogs were located in the home, unharmed. They are now in the care of the Monmouth County SPCA.
