Matawan PD Investigating Home Invasion on Main Street

The Matawan Police Department is investigating a home invasion that took place on Main Street Tuesday night.

Police say that at about 8:05 p.m., a male resident of 258 Main Street was working in his garage when two men broke into the garage by kicking down the door. The men took about $400 cash from the resident and fled the scene, according to Lt. Ben Smith.

Police are currently searching for the two individuals and the incident is still under investigation, Smith said.

Officer Jeff Bodner and Sgt. Jeff Bodner responded to the scene. Det. Steve Sakowski is currently investigating.
