We asked Patch readers what they thought the biggest safety issues were in their town. Here’s a list of the most pressing problems, from break-ins to traffic jams:
- "No curbs or sidewalks in certain areas by the school."
- "The light on the corner of 516 and 79 by Mullaney Tire. That light should have a green arrow in all directions. Impossible turn!"
- "The Parkway ramps at exit 120. Making a left coming off the ramps is almost impossible during rush hours."
- "Some of the stray cats on the trail. Hopefully they get rabies shots. Some of those kitties look pretty roughed up."
- "Mill Rd and 34."
- "Drugs, most of the drugs are coming through the trains that runs through our towns. Maybe put the patrol cars closer to the train discharge area?"
- "The traffic for drop off and pick up at the middle school is horrible. Mainly the the side entrance. Backs up traffic like you wouldn't believe."
- "Pot holes"
- "Drugs, I feel, are the most pressing safety concern in town. Addiction affects both old and young, and opiate addiction alone is crippling Monmouth County."
