Matawan Teen Struck by Pick-up Truck While Crossing Main Street
The 15-year-old girl is in stable condition, police say

A fifteen-year-old Matawan girl was struck by a pick-up truck Thursday evening just after 6 p.m. while crossing Main Street, according to Matawan Patrolman Paul Ryba.
According to witnesses, the teenage girl was talking on the cell phone while crossing Main Street near the intersection of Church Street when she was struck, Ryba said. She was walking by herself to a friend's house in the area.
The girl was taken by the Matawan First Aid to Jersey Shore Medical Center. She is currently in stable condition, Ryba said.

No summons have been issued at this time and are pending further investigation.
Patrolman Ryba, Patrolman Christopher Stark and Matawan First Aid responded to the scene. Aberdeen Township Police assisted by directing traffic around the accident.
