Owner
Our office is a partnership between myself and Dr. Steve Silberberg
How did the office come to be?
Dr. Silberberg has practiced in Matawan for the past 17 years, with me joining the practice seven years ago and became a partner 3 years ago. I always knew I wanted to be in health care. I was torn between Physical Therapy, Dentistry and Optometry. My father is an optometrist in Manhattan, so having a solid knowledge about eye care and seeing how my father enjoyed helping his patients so much pushed me in the direction of optometry

What makes your office special?
Our office stands out from the crowd by having a great staff, with the latest technology in equipment and we are detail-oriented all while providing a "mom and pop" feel to the office.
What do your patients have to say?
Patients always comment that they love the technology we have and how every year when they come into the office we have a new piece of equipment. As an example, we now provide genetic testing for Macula Degeneration. We often hear how thorough our exams are and how the patient receives plenty of time to discuss their conditions with the doctor. Our practice has a heavy emphasis on the diagnosis and treatment of all eye conditions and diseases especially glaucoma, dry eye, and macular degeneration, along with performing eye exams and contact lens exams for patients of all ages. The office has an optical boutique with over 1,000 frames.
Where did you go to school?
I grew up in Staten Island and then went to undergraduate at SUNY Stony Brook. After my undergraduate studies I went to the New England College of Optometry where i received my Doctor of Optometry degree. I did internships at the Hudson valley VA hospital as well as Omni eye Services of NJ. Recently my partner and I became Board Certified by the American Board of Optometry, 2 of only about 500 in the country.
Tell us a little about yourself and your family.
I reside in Old bridge with my wife Nancy and our two boys Brandon, who is 11 years old, and Colby, who is 9 years old. The boys keep us extremely busy with little league, travel baseball, basketball and football. We are diehard Yankee and Jets fans. I am a board member of the Sayre Woods South little league in Old Bridge and spend a lot of time coaching
