MRHS Soccer Player Competes at International Tournament in Russia

The US Olympic Development team made it to the quarter-finals

senior competed alongside 72 American students on the United States Youth Soccer Association's Olympic Development Team at the Kuban Spring 2012 International Tournament.

At the tournament, which took place between March 3 and March 18, the United States team competed against twelve different teams, including Ukraine, Belarus and Slovakia.

The girls fell to China in the quarter finals with a score of 1-0. Even though they didn't place first, Urbanski said she would never forget the experience of traveling overseas and representing her country in a soccer match.

"I'm really happy I had this opportunity. Many people never get the chance to go out of the country and play soccer and experience new cultures, try new foods and make new friends," Urbanski said after she was honored with a proclamation at the Aberdeen Township Council meeting Tuesday night.

Urbanski will play soccer for Seton Hall University in the fall.
