Old Bridge Man Hit By SUV, Killed Saturday On Englishtown Road

The man, 65 and who lived in Old Bridge, was hit by a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 22-year-old Old Bridge resident.

OLD BRIDGE, NJ — A 65-year-old Old Bridge man was hit by an SUV and killed Saturday night while crossing Englishtown Road, said police.

He was struck at approximately 8:41 p.m. in the area of 1146 Englishtown Road, said police. That is near the Old Bridge diner.

The man, 65 and who lived in Old Bridge, was hit by a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 22-year-old Old Bridge resident. "Emergency services responded to the scene, but tragically, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries," said police in a statement.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. No charges have been filed at this time.

Police did not release the name of the deceased man.
