Police: BP Gas Station on Route 35 in Cliffwood Robbed Early Wednesday
Police say the male subject showed a gun to the attendant

A gas station on Route 35 near the intersection of Amboy Avenue was robbed on Wednesday, March 28 at about 4 a.m., according to Aberdeen Chief of Police John Powers.
Police say that a man approached the attendant at the BP gas station and asked the attendant to purchase one of the items kept in the booth. The man followed the attendant into the booth and once inside he allegedly showed a black handgun to the attendant and demanded money, Powers said.
The man allegedly took a quantity of cash, the store's cordless phone and the attendant's cell phone. He fled on foot in the direction of Amboy Avenue, police said.

A police department statement described the suspect as "a black male, approximately 6' tall, thin build, weighing about 175 pounds, black hair and dark eyes" and "wearing a navy or black hooded sweatshirt with a white drawstring and a white t-shirt."
The incident was investigated by P.O. Raymond Campbell, P.O. Anthony Valentino and Sgt. Darrell Oliver.
