Ruth Kovacs, 82, of Cliffwood Beach Dies

Ruth Kovacs, 82, of Cliffwood Beach died on Saturday, Jan. 14 at home. She spent most of her life living in Woodbridge before moving to Cliffwood Beach.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband Steven Kovacs. She was a loving mother of four children; Stephen Kovacs Jr. of Old Bridge, Beverly Fischer of Hazlet, Jean Scala of Pennsylvania and Timothy Kovacs of Cliffwood Beach. She is survived by three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was a dear sister to Marie Rock of N.Y, Helen Mortenson of Old Bridge, Alice Barlow of Florida and Linda Grant of Parlin and many nieces and nephews.

Kovacs was employed by Ralph Friedlend and Brothers for 17 years.  She will be greatly missed by her family.

A visitation will be held at the at 212 Main Street in Matawan on Tuesday, Jan. 17 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A service will take place by the funeral home at 8 p.m. In respect of Ruth’s wishes she will be privately cremated.
