Sayreville Man Sold Fentanyl, Meth, Heroin, Say Prosecutors

A Parlin man was part of a ring that sold heroin, cocaine and fentanyl in New Jersey. The men are Latin King members, say prosecutors:

SAYREVILLE, NJ — A man from Sayreville's Parlin section was part of a drug-trafficking ring that sold fentanyl, heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine in New Jersey, said U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger.

The Parlin man is Joel Hernandez, 28.

U.S. Attorneys say he is one of nine men in the drug-trafficking ring: Jaquan Beard, 25, Joseph Feliciano, 40, Carlos Lopez, 50, George Lopez, 49, Tyree Malone, 36, and David Quinones, 29, all of Newark; Wilberto Cotto, 41, Reinaldo Cruz, 44, Steven Garcia, 48, Adolphus Hunter, 48, Jermaine Jones, 37, and Nelson Valentin, 37, all of Elizabeth, Jonathan Arce, 36, of Belleville and Jose Correa, 53, of Yardley, Pennsylvania.

Most of those men are members and associates of the Latin Kings street gang, said U.S. Attorneys.

Police say they sold the drugs primarily in Newark, and elsewhere in Essex and Union counties.

Each is charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl and heroin. George Lopez is also charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine, one count of possession of firearms in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime, and one count of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

Police uncovered more than 50 grams of methamphetamine, five kilograms of cocaine, 40 grams of fentanyl and 100 grams of heroin while investigating the ring.

Beard, Correa, Garcia and Malone remain at large, while the other men have been apprehended by law enforcement.
