$20K In Renovation Funds For Mendham Fields On Committee Docket
The ordinance, which was introduced last month, will be subject to a public hearing before being approved at the committee meeting next week
MENDHAM, NJ — Mosle Field could be getting an upgrade.
The Mendham Township Committee recently introduced a new ordinance that would allow for a $20,000 appropriation from the Capital Improvement Fund to be used for Mosle Field improvements.
Mosle Fields is a 120-acre park at the top of Hunters Glen Road that the township purchased in 2008. The preserve now has a football and baseball field, as well as hiking trails in the surrounding woods.

The $20,000 from the Capital Improvement Fund would be used to fund a study of Mosle Fields to review the playing surfaces of the existing fields, according to the committee.
The funding would also be used to determine whether Mosle Fields could support additional lighting and how much it would cost to do so. Increased lighting would make it easier for people to access the athletic fields for nighttime activities and events.

Although the ordinance was introduced at the committee meeting on Oct. 24, the public hearing was postponed until Monday, Nov. 14. The public will be able to weigh in on the funding and future of the athletic fields.
Mosle Field is also popular among Mendham residents for recreation, as the township uses the fields to host community events such as the annual Fourth of July fireworks display.
