Central, Mendham Earn Model Program Rank For World Languages

Schools are first regional district to earn statewide designation.

Consistently ranked among the best schools in New Jersey, West Morris Central and Mendham High Schools have put another notch in their educational excellence belt, being named a World Language Model Program for the next two years.

Supervisor of World Languages at the district, Jessica Lasusa submitted an application to the New Jersey Department of Education, which included a rigorous process.

The DOE examined the district’s curriculum, assessments, program goals and philosophy, student work, target language implementation, and student grouping methods to determine the department met or exceeded the criteria designated in all categories, Lasusa told Patch.
