Chester Board Of Education Adopts Tentative School Budget For 2025
The Board of Education met on Tuesday to go over the proposed 2025 - 2026 school budget.
MENDHAM-CHESTER, NJ — The Board of Education approved a tentative budget for the 2025-2026 school year on Tuesday.
As required by New Jersey state law, the budget proposal will now be submitted to the Executive County Superintendent for final approval.
The proposed budget includes salaries for bus drivers and staff, substitute teachers, student field trips, and an HVAC upgrade at the Bragg and Black River schools.

The Board of Education expects to raise approximately $3.9 million in revenue and $23.6 million through taxes. The total planned expenses are about $27.6 million.
The next meeting will be held at the Chester Board of Education Office on April 29 at 6 p.m.
