CHESTER, NJ — Jason Dilley and Kelly Banko are used to being at the scene of car crashes, as part of their volunteer work with the Chester First Aid Squad. But in mid-July, the young couple found themselves on the other side, when they were involved in a motorcycle crash.

"Both Jason and Kelly spend countless hours giving back to others and now it is our time to return the favor," a friend of the couple's, Paul Sharpe, wrote in a fundraising effort for the pair.

Dilley and Banko were injured in a crash on July 13, and taken to Geisinger Hospital in Pennsylvania by helicopter. "Luckily, both of them are alive and stable today but have a long road to recovery," Sharpe said.

Both contribute to the community in more ways than one. Dilley is the Chief of the Chester First Aid squad and a firefighter with the Chester Fire Company, and an EMT for Atlantic Mobile Health and Morris County OEM.

Banko also volunteers at the Chester First Aid Squad, and plans on joining the U.S. Navy after she graduates from Villanova with a nursing degree. She also works as an EMT with St. Claire's Medical System.

All funds raised through the GoFundMe will go to offset medical bills and living expenses while they recover. So far, $2,130 has been raised towards a $10,000 goal.
