Chester Mendham Food Pantry Collection Event This Saturday
Mendham Borough's DPW is hosting a "contactless" donation drive this coming Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Find out how to help here.
MENDHAM, NJ — In giving a helping hand for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, Mendham Borough’s Department of Public Works has spearheaded a “no contact drop off” event, where they'll be collecting items for the Chester Mendham Food Pantry.
On Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. the DPW plans to have tables and bins set up at its facility on 37 Ironia Road. Here, people who would like to donate, can drop off new and unopened shelf-stable foods, as well as cleaning supplies and toiletries.

Among the items the DPW is looking to collect:
- Coffee
- Peanut Butter
- Jelly
- Tuna
- Chili
- Soup
- Canned Fruits
- Crackers
- Condiments, such as Ketchup
- Cookies
- Crackers
- Thanksgiving dinner items
- Household cleaning supplies
- Dish detergent
- Soaps and body washes
- Shampoos and conditioners

The Chester Mendham Food Pantry has noted an uptick in people they serve on its website and has a list of some of its current needs, which they say now includes: pancake mix, dessert mix, instant potatoes, barbecue sauce, pasta sauce, baked beans, cereal excluding Cheerios, snacks, mayonnaise, coffee, peas and cooking oil.
People who would like to give, the food pantry says, can send food by Amazon or other retailers by mail to: CMFP c/o Eisenhardt, 3 Fieldcrest Road, Chester, NJ 07390. Checks can also be made payable to the CMFP at P.O. Box 694, Chester NJ 07390.
