Chester Officials Collecting Surplus Halloween Candy to Donate to Troops

Chester officials are collecting extra candy as part of Operation Jersey Cares.

CHESTER, N.J.– Chester Borough and Chester Township officials are collecting surplus Halloween candy this week and next for Operation Jersey Cares.

According to its website, Operation Jersey Cares is a volunteer organization whose mission is to help troops overseas as well as returning soldiers who have been wounded in combat.

The candy can be dropped off at the respective municipal buildings.

The candy will be assembled in packages and sent to troops, officials said.
