Chester PAPD Officer, 9/11 Survivor Speaking At Ceremony

Port Authority officer and 9/11 survivor Will Jimeno will speak at this year's 9/11 remembrance ceremony.

CHESTER, NJ — Will Jimeno, a Port Authority police officer and 9/11 survivor from Chester, will be the keynote speaker at this year's Morris County Remembers 9/11 Service this weekend.

Jimeno survived the attacks after spending 13 hours trapped in the rubble alongside fellow Port Authority officer, Sgt. John McLoughlin. Although McLoughlin survived, 37 other PAPD officers lost their lives that day. Jimeno and McLoughlin were featured in the 2006 film, "World Trade Center."

In addition to Jimeno's keynote speech, the ceremony will include a special invocation, a lighting of candles, and reading of the names of each of the Morris County victims, and a 21-gun salute. Sixty-four Morris County residents lost their lives that day.
