Deer Hunt Will Close Chester Park 8 Days This Winter
Anyone without a hunting permit cannot enter the park on these days.

CHESTER, NJ — The Black River facilities in Chester will be closed on eight different days this winter for deer hunts, the Morris County Park Commission said.
The facilities, which include Coopper Gristmill, Kay Environmental Center, Bamboo Brook and Willowwood Arboretum, will be closed on select weekdays in December, January and February for a firearm hunt of white-tailed deer. All hunters must be permitted, and applications for permits are now closed.
The hunt has been implemented annually since the early 1990s. In addition to Black River, Lewis Morris Park will be closed for several days for a firearm hunt. Other county parks will see bow and arrow hunts, and will remain open for those.
