Dogs Howl Happily Over ‘Howl O Ween’ In Chester: Pics
Several costumed dogs visited Woof Gang Bakery and Grooming Center with their humans over Halloween weekend, for their own special event.
CHESTER, NJ — The fourth annual “Howl O Ween” event recently returned to Chester after a year off from COVID.
Franchise owners for Woof Gang Bakery and Grooming, Barbara and Frank Buonvicino, who opened their doors in Chester in 2017, told Patch that though there were fewer participants than in past years, “probably still due to COVID,” the dogs in costume and their pet parents enjoyed a celebration at the store.

As part of it, the Buonvicinos took photos of each of the dogs who visited, as well as a goody bag packed with Halloween-themed “table treats,” plus a coupon card for $5 off a $25 or more purchase at the store.
“The customers were so thankful,” said Barbara Buonvicino.

She shared the photos on the bakery and grooming location’s Facebook Page, later having posted the three top dogs in costumes that dropped by, their pet parents each given a gift card as their prize. Among them were “Beetlejuice,” “Big Chihuahua” and “Superman 2.”
“We love doing these events because we make new friends in the community and also because my husband and I really love dogs,” Buonvicino added.

Saturday, Nov. 27 - On Small Business Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. is the store’s “Paws for a Cause” 11th Hour Rescue benefit, with Swarovski Crystal Jewelry displayed and for sale, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting 11th Hour.
Saturday, Dec. 4 - from noon to 3 p.m., the Ovation Barbershop Quartet will be walking around the Chester Shopping Center, entertainment Buonvicino said, which the store helps coordinate. Saturday, Dec. 18 - from 12 to 2 p.m., pet photos with Santa at the shop, which is located at 270 Route 206 South.
