Driver Ejected From Car After Crash On I-80 In Morris County: Police

The 40-year-old man sustained serious injuries after the single-vehicle crash in Morris County early Thursday morning, said police.

MOUNT ARLINGTON, NJ — Officials said a Connecticut man was seriously injured after losing control of his car on I-80 early Thursday morning, and was ejected from the vehicle.

According to New Jersey State Police, the 40-year-old was eastbound on I-80 just before 1 a.m. Police said he lost control of the Volvo he was driving and ran off the left side of the road near milepost 30.3 in Mount Arlington.

Officials said the car struck the concrete barrier and swerved back onto the highway, before going off the other side of the road. The Volvo then struck the guardrail, overturned, and then hit a tree. State police said the man was ejected from the vehicle, and sustained serious injuries.

First responders transported the man, a resident of Norwalk, Conn., to an area hospital. Trooper said the crash is under investigation and there is no more information to release as of Friday morning.
