Experience What 'Drugged Driving' Feels Like With Mendham Boro PD

MDPB is partnering with Ford to created a simulated "drugged driving" experience for drivers.

MENDHAM BOROUGH, NJ — "Drunk goggles" are a popular tool for drivers ed classes; they're a safe way for teachers to drive home the point that driving under the influence of alcohol is never safe. But what about driving under the influence of drugs?

The Mendham Borough Police Department is teaming up with Maplecrest Ford to teach driving what driving drugged really feels like. Instead of just handing out goggles, drivers will be able to try on a "drugged driving suit," sit in a stationary car, and experience a mock-pull over where a Mendham Borough police officer will see how impaired they are.

The event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 1:30 p.m. in the West Morris Mendham High School parking lot. Anyone who wishes to attend is welcome.
