Fall Brush and Branch Collection Planned For Monday In Mendham

Mendham Township Fall Brush Pick-up will begin on Monday, Oct. 17 this year due to the road paving and milling project.

MENDHAM, NJ — Residents in Mendham Township who want their fall brush cleared can leave it at the curb beginning Monday, Oct. 17.

The pickup is coordinated by the township's Public Works Department, and residents must follow specific guidelines before placing brush along the side of their roadway.

The program is primarily intended for homeowners with little to no acreage on which to dispose of the materials, but it is open to all Township residents.

In order to have yard debris removed by the Public Works Department, residents should have the brush—including sticks or branches—at the curb by 7 a.m. on Oct. 17, with the ends of the items to be picked up, facing the roadway.

There are specific guidelines the township has set for bundled materials, including:

"If you hire an outside contractor to cut down a tree, trim trees, bushes and/or provide landscaping, the Contractor is responsible for hauling it away, not the Township," officials said.

During the brush pickup period, the township cannot haul away tree stumps, firewood, or logs longer than six feet in length, in addition to large amounts of landscaping debris from contractors.
