ICYMI: Feel The Bern In Chester: Sanders' Supporters To Rally At Local Bar

Chester tavern with same name as Democratic candidate will be location of May 13 event.

CHESTER, N.J. – Bernie Sanders may be a Vermont Senator originally from New York, but his supporters can be found far and wide, including Chester, New Jersey.

With the June Primary Election just seven weeks away, Sanders supporters announced they’ll be Feeling The Bern at Bernie’s Tavern in Chester on Friday, May 13 from 9 to 11 p.m.

Those attending must be 21 and older, and drinks and food will be available. The first 100 attendees will receive Bernie wristbands, according to the organizers.

Local political activists will kick off the event at 9 p.m., followed by singer/songwriter Jack Tannehill at 9:30 p.m. Rally speakers will then take the mic at 10:30 p.m., with The Dowden Brothers Band performing from 11 p.m. to close.

Just last week the Sanders campaign opened its northwest New Jersey headquarters, serving Sussex, Warren, Morris, and Hunterdon counties, in Dover.

Bernie’s is located at 125 Hillside Road in Chester. The event is being organized, in part, by Edward Correa, a new American citizen who is also one of the state’s Democratic delegates.
