It's Official: West Morris Regional School Board Race Is Over

After a pandemic-extended election style, the results are finally in.

The polls are closed and the ballots are cast and after a pandemic extended election cycle, Mendham, Chester and Long Valley know who will be representing them on the West Morris Regional School Board.

According to the final tallies, certified by the Morris County Clerk the totals were:

Chester Rep

  • Natasha Chandler: 1,660
  • Marina Kontos: 1,533

Washington Township Rep

  • James Schulok: 3,720
  • Suzanne Bliesath: 4,601

  • Robert Strobel: 2,828

Since the change to this year's election was announced by Gov. Phil Murphy because of the coronavirus, there were been many questions about how the process worked. The primarily vote-by-mail process, in tandem with the extended deadlines to receive votes pushed the certification day to "on or about Nov. 20."
