The kids' fun run will also be taking place after the Patriot’s Race 5K at around 9:45 a.m., featuring kids races, obstacle courses, and a bouncy house. Registration for the kids' fun run is $25. All participants can use the bouncy house until 11:30 a.m., and non-participants need to buy a $5 bracelet to use it.

There will be awards for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall male and female runners. Additional awards are based on age group, divided every ten years.

“The Mendham Patriot's 5K Race benefits college scholarships, recreation programs, and local charities,” a race statement read. "Funding for recreational programs and events is dependent on this event. The Patriot's Race serves as the Recreation Department's largest event of the year. With funding provided by the Township Budget minimal for programs, events and Brookside Beach - this is your chance to support Mendham Township Recreation!”

Finishing first overall last year was then 17-year-old Tommy Jendryka. The Mendham teen had a finishing time of 17:36 with an average pace of 5:40.

Sponsorships are available, and donations are also encouraged. To learn more about how to sponsor a runner and donate, contact Recreation Director, David Guida, at 973-543-4555 ext. 222 or dguida@mendhamtownship.org.
