Local Hero: George Muha Quietly Makes Life Better For Mendham And Chester

MENDHAM/CHESTER, NJ — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

Why do you believe the local hero should be recognized or honored?

He’s a positive force for high school kids. He started a business reporting on high school sports in two counties.. Morris and Sussex and his business name is Morris Sussex Sports. . He has the kids write articles, be the photographers, or film a sporting event some of which are broadcast on his utube channel. As well as provide commentary and interview players before during and after events. It’s all very professional. He has local businesses sponsor trading cards or commercials on his utube channel. My nephew lives in Long Valley and during the pandemic we from South Jersey were not able to go to his football games but we were able to watch all his games live on Youtube which was great! George is doing a great service for the community. He even gets those with physical or mental handicaps involved. Some of the kids who have participated have gone on to broadcasting jobs. George works so hard and It’s just great to see the positive impact his business has had in these two counties! I’m so proud of him!

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the local hero?

He’s a great guy.. he was the youngest of 6 kids and 4 were boys all very athletic and involved in all sports. It was a thrill to get your name in the paper for an event when we were young. George has expanded on that and created opportunities for those who are not athletes as well.
