Longtime Mendham Resident, Volunteer, Grandmother Dies at 79

Alice Ann Berryhill-Placzek was always looking to help others.

The longtime Mendham resident died recently at the age of 79.

Berryhill-Placzek moved to Mendham in 1971 after being born and raised in Illinois. She served as a volunteer at Morristown Medical Center as well as financial secretary of the Mendham United Methodist Church for many years.

She also volunteered at the Community Soup Kitchen of Morristown.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley Placzek, and their three children. She is also survived by four grandchildren. She is predeceased by her first husband, Robert Berryhill, who died in 1981.
