Memorial Golf Outing Set For Morris Teens Killed In Car Crash

Proceeds will benefit homeless in Guatemala; event to take place at Black Oak Golf Club in Long Valley.

LONG VALLEY, N.J. – Their lives were taken far too soon, but their memories will live on both near and far.

Jack Timmerman and Calvin Verduga, two teens from Randolph, were tragically killed in a car crash in July 2014.

And now, this May, the second annual Timmerman/Verduga Memorial Golf Classic will be held at Black Oak Golf Club on Bartley Road in Long Valley to help remember the duo, but to also spread hope to others.

Proceeds from the event will go to building homes for the poorest of the poor in Guatemala City, Guatemala, as part of the Beyond The Walls program through Mendham Hills Community Church, where Timmerman was a member.

Timmerman and his family had traveled to the central American country to help serve the people there. Last year, Verduga’s mother, Alma and sister Tiffany took the trip as well to help build a home there in honor of the boys.

What they didn’t know while building the structure was that the home would lived in by a woman who had lost her own teenage son the year before.

The event includes breakfast, golf, and lunch for each member. Registration and sign-ups can be done here.
