Mendham Police Department Seeks Accreditation, Needs Public's Comments
105-point inspection brings three-year term if approved.

MENDHAM, N.J. – Seeking a three-year accreditation term through the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, the Mendham Borough Police Department is looking to finish the process, and now seeks the public’s input.
On Friday, May 15, a team of assessors from the (NJSACOP) will be at Mendham’s headquarters to examine all aspects of the Mendham Borough Police Department’s policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services.
In doing so, public comment is welcomed by phone call between 10 a.m. and noon. Mendham residents may call 973-477-5515 to speak for up to five minutes about the department.

The Mendham Borough Police Department must comply with 105 standards in order to achieve accredited status. Chief Libertino said, “Accreditation results in greater accountability within the agency, reduced risk and liability exposure, stronger defense against civil lawsuits, increased community advocacy, and more confidence in the agency’s ability to operate efficiently and respond to community needs.”
