Mold Found In Morris Co. Middle School, Prompting Closure
The mold was found in two classrooms and the auditorium.

MOUNT OLIVE, NJ — Mold has been found in a Mount Olive middle school this week, forcing the temporary closure of the building, acting Superintendent Susan Breton said in a letter.
The mold was found in two classrooms and the auditorium at the middle school, Breton said. Although the mold is not life threatening, it could cause respiratory issues.
The school will be closed on Sept. 11 and 12 for further testing and clean-up, Breton said. Other district schools will remain open; visual inspections will be conducted but there's no cause for concern, Breton said.

"As it has been an extremely wet, hot and humid summer, many districts throughout the state are facing similar issues. We are working diligently and proactively to ensure that we maintain a healthy, safe building and want to ensure that we communicate with the families of the middle school in an open and transparent manner," Breton said in a letter.
This is not the first North Jersey school to have to close because of mold. Both Blairstown and Hopatcong saw mold closures this September.
