We are dedicated to supporting an underserved population within the Essex County community, driven by the fundamental belief that no individual should ever endure hunger or lack access to essentials. Our vision encompasses providing support through direct meal and essential items distributions, and to empower individuals by assisting with securing employment and housing. Downed power lines Saturday afternoon will close Route 24 from State Park Road to Chesterfield Drive until early Sunday morning, according to Chester police.  According to Lt. Tom Williver, that section of highway will remain closed until 12 a.m. Sunday.  The power lines were knocked down at about 2:20 p.m. when a tree fell on a telephone pole, according to the report.  Currently, JCP&amp;L are on scene replacing the pole and putting the power lines back up, Williver said. The incident also caused a small brush fire but it was quickly put out, Williver said.  JCP&amp;L could not be reached for comment.
