Robber Sentenced For Striking Banks In Morris, Bergen Counties: Feds
Officials said the man took almost $33,000 in a series of robberies last July around North Jersey and Pennsylvania.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Officials said Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to prison for committing four bank robberies last summer, including one in Netcong and one in Fair Lawn.
In total, officials accused 30-year-old Damen Drakeford of Wilkes-Barre of taking $32,988 between July 7 and July 14, 2023. The first robbery he is accused of took place at Fulton Bank in Netcong, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania State Police arrested Drakeford on July 14 after a robbery in M&T Bank in Stroudsburg, Pa., where Drakeford reportedly led police on a high-speed chase, crashed his vehicle, and then ran into the woods.

Drakeford admitted to committing the robberies, and has been sentenced to seven years in prison, said officials.
